The FBI executed a search warrant Jan. 28 at the Fulton County Elections Hub & Operations Center near Atlanta, Georgia as part of probe related to the 2020 presidential vote, according to multiple media reports.
The bureau confirmed to USA TODAY that it is "conducting court-authorized law enforcement activity," but said no other information is currently available.
The search marks the latest escalation of efforts by the Trump administration to re-examine and recast the 2020 presidential election, which former President Joe Biden won, but President Donald Trump still sometimes refuses to concede.
Fact check: How we know the 2020 election results were legitimate, not 'rigged' as Donald Trump claims
While the FBI didn't share details on the purpose of the search, CBS News, Reuters, and Fox News all reported it relates to the 2020 election, citing anonymous sources.
