Neil Young is giving the gift of music in support of Greenland.
The "Heart of Gold" singer, 80, will be giving away a year of free access to his online Neil Young Archives to "all of our friends in Greenland," he announced in a post on his website dated Jan. 27.
The move, which includes Young's catalog of music, came in response to President Donald Trump in recent weeks declaring his intention for the United States to seize control of Greenland.
Young, who has been an outspoken critic of Trump for years, described his offer as a "gesture of kindness and respect" for Greenland, telling fans there that "all the music I have made during the last 62 years is yours to hear." A subscription to Young's website usually costs between $24.99 and $99.99 per year.
He also wrote, "I hope my music and music films will ease some of the unwarranted stress and threats you are experiencing from our unpopular and hopefully temporary government."
