Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] State secretariat member M.V. Jayarajan on Sunday (January 25, 2026) said disciplinary action would be taken against party member V. Kunhikrishnan for making public disclosures alleging irregularities in the Payyannur martyrs fund. He asserted that the party had not misused “even a single paisa” from the fund and would never deviate from the correct path.

Speaking to the media ahead of the CPI(M) Kannur district secretariat meeting, Mr. Jayarajan said Mr. Kunhikrishnan would find no support within the party for his statements. He described the march to MLA T.I. Madhusoodanan’s office as “totally unacceptable” and said the party was not concerned about Mr. Kunhikrishnan’s book. According to him, Mr. Kunhikrishnan himself acknowledged that action would follow his disclosures, adding that public statements of this nature were unacceptable and aimed at weakening the party. The district committee, he said, would take an appropriate decision.

Mr. Jayarajan alleged that Mr. Kunhikrishnan had become a “tool of the party’s enemies.” The CPIM) leader reiterated that the Mr. Kunhikrishnan’s allegations have already been examined by the party and no embezzlement was found.
