Of all the Assembly constituencies in SPSR Nellore district, the Nellore Rural segment has undertaken the largest number of developmental projects in terms of volumes, ever since the NDA Alliance regime has taken over the reins of the State in 2024.
In the first phase last year, Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy broke the ground for 339 works worth ₹41 crore on a single day and launched all of them simultaneously 60 days later. The record drew appreciation from none other than Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh, who, in a post on the social media platform ‘X’, described Nellore Rural as synonymous with development.
Buoyed by the response, the legislator initiated the second phase of 240 works worth ₹27 crore. As he was unavailable due to medical grounds, his younger brother Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy, who is also the TDP’s co-convener for the constituency, took over the reins.
Mr. Giridhar Reddy formally launched the works through the residents of that particular locality, in the presence of in-charge Mayor Roop Kumar Yadav, who also called Nellore Rural as a role model for development.
“Cumulatively, Nellore Rural tops in the region to have taken up and executed 579 works worth ₹68 crore after the NDA Alliance regime came to power,” Mr. Reddy said, adding that the same would be inaugurated by 60 days.
