T20 World Cup: Bangladesh out, Scotland in as ICC refuses to change venues

Scotland replace Bangladesh after the BCB’s request to relocate its games from India is turned down by the ICC.

Bangladesh will not take part in the T20 World Cup 2026 after the International Cricket Council (ICC) turned down a request to relocate their fixtures from India over security concerns, and have been replaced by Scotland, the global cricket body said.

Following weeks of deliberation and dialogue, the ICC confirmed on Saturday that Bangladesh will be replaced by Scotland in Group C of the tournament.
