Two snakes found in a running car created panic among commuters in Salem on Friday (January 23, 2026).
Ayyanar (80), a resident of Mallur, along with his wife, Indirani, came to Salem Town in their car on Friday. While they were headed to their relative’s house, near the Kottai Mariamman Kovil, two snakes came out of the car. The commuters who noticed the snakes alerted the car driver. Panicked, the car driver stopped the car and fled. With the help of the locals, the couple came out of the car. On information, the Shevapet Fire and Rescue Service personnel came to the spot, captured the two snakes and released them into Yercaud Forest.
