Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was scheduled to visit Nagari town on January 24 as part of a one-day district tour, District Collector Sumith Kumar said on Friday.

As per the official programme, the Chief Minister will arrive at 11.20 a.m. at the helipad set up at the Junior College grounds and proceed to the SAAP Sports Ground at 11.30 a..m to address a public meeting. Later, he will inspect the pre and post-matric social welfare hostels at 1.50 p.m. and visit the Nagari Area Hospital at 2.15 p.m. to interact with patients and staff. He is also scheduled to address a meeting with TDP cadres of Chittoor district, before departing for Undavalli at 3.55 p.m.

Mr. Naidu’s visit assumed political significance as Nagari was a YSRCP stronghold between 2014 and 2024, represented by former MLA R.K. Roja. The programme also comes in the backdrop of Nagari-based senior TDP leader Shanmuga Reddy’s recent appointment as president of the Chittoor parliamentary district.
