After getting his first Oscar nomination, Michael B. Jordan is feeling the love but his phone is feeling the heat.

"My battery's already at like 12% and I had it on the charge all night. So the phone hasn't really stopped," the "Sinners" star tells USA TODAY a few hours after nominations were announced Jan. 22. "It's a cool morning, man. Feeling good today!"

Jordan has many reasons to be happy: Ryan Coogler's hit gangster vampire musical horror epic is up for 16 honors at the 98th Academy Awards ceremony on March 15, crushing the record of 14 nominations shared by "Titanic," "La La Land" and "All About Eve."

"Honestly, I'm still processing all of that stuff, man," Jordan says. The nominations feel "really great because I know how much everybody poured into this movie every day. For something so specific to be loved so universally is great."
