Kate Hudson is "thrilled, excited and grateful" for her underdog best actress "Song Sung Blue" Oscar nomination, announced Thursday, Jan. 22.
"It's been an absolutely glorious morning," Hudson tells USA TODAY of her second career Oscar nomination, the first since she was nominated in 2000's "Almost Famous" for best supporting actress. "It really hasn't sunk in totally yet, but it's going to at some point,"
Hudson, 46, says that the early morning Oscar nomination viewing at her Los Angeles home did impact the sleep of daughter Rani Rose, 7, who had snuck into her bed in the middle of the night.
'Sinners' tops Oscars 'SWith record 16 nominations. See the list.
"My alarm went off, and I put on the TV, and my daughter was like, 'What is happening?' She was not having it. She was like 'Mom!'" says Hudson. "I was like, 'Honey, this is important.' And then she got really excited."
