“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert on Wednesday said President Donald Trump “wasted no time confirming that his brain real broke” when he spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Trump repeated his demand that the United States be given control over Greenland ― except that he called it “Iceland” four times during the speech.“Dear Lord! He’s on an imperial conquest, and he can’t even remember what he wants to conquer,” he said of “addled” Trump. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, however, denied that Trump made the gaffe, instead insisting that the president was just referring to Greenland “as a ‘piece of ice,’ because that’s what it is.” Colbert’s audience jeered Leavitt’s comments. “That is some grade A, big brother propaganda,” Colbert said, then pulled out a mock quote. “As George Orwell wrote in ’1984,’ ‘war is peace, freedom is slavery, Karoline Leavitt is a dumbass.’” Colbert’s audience cheered.
