Union Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy will be in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on January 24 and 25 to review the performance of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), jointly owned by the Government of Telangana and the Government of India, SCCL sources said.

He will also review the SCCL’s entire gamut of coal mining activities including future plans.

According to the sources, the Union Minister will arrive in Kothagudem at 5.30 p.m. on Saturday. Upon his arrival in the coal town, he will hold a review meeting with SCCL’s Directors and General Managers at Yellandu Club in Kothagudem. Later, he will hold another meeting with the overburden removal (OBR) contractors and the major coal contractors.

On Sunday, the Union Minister will interact with Singareni trade unions. He will visit the SCCL corporate office in Kothagudem and the Koyagudem open-cast mine in Tekulapalli mandal too.
