Jan. 22 (UPI) -- The New York Mets agreed to a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers for right-handed pitchers Freddy Peralta and Tobias Myers, the teams announced.

Right-handed pitcher Brandon Sproat and minor league infielder Jett Williams will head to Milwaukee in the swap. The move was just the latest in the series of transactions this off-season for the Mets, who previously traded for outfielder Luis Robert Jr. and signed free agents Bo Bichette and Luis Garcia, among others.

"What an incredible week," Mets owner Steven Cohen wrote Wednesday on X. "Let's go Mets!"

Peralta won a National League-high 17 games, with six losses and a career-best 2.70 ERA over 33 starts last season for the Brewers en route to his second All-Star selection. The right-handed pitcher went 70-42 with a 3.59 ERA over the first eight years of his MLB career. Peralta, 29, threw at least 200 strikeouts over each of his last three seasons.
