Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on Sunday hit back at President Donald Trump's fresh tariff threats over Greenland.

“We want to cooperate, and it is not we who are seeking conflict,” Frederiksen wrote on Facebook. “And I am pleased with the consistent messages from the rest of the continent: Europe will not be blackmailed.”

On Saturday, Trump said that he intends to impose tariffs on multiple European countries – including Denmark, France and the United Kingdom – barring a deal for the U.S. purchase of Greenland. In response, these nations issued a joint statement denouncing Trump's pressure campaign, and stressing their openness to discussing Arctic security.
