Reports: CBS To Air Pulled '60 Minutes' CECOT Segment TonightCBS is set to air a previously pulled segment on the notorious CECOT prison in El Salvador on tonight's episode of "60 Minutes," according to CNN's Chief Media Analyst Brian Stelter.Stelter reports that tonight's airing is "still not 100% official as of Sunday afternoon — and CBS News PR has not sent out any listings for the broadcast — but the finishing touches are being made today," according to sources inside the network.Dylan Byers of Puck, also reporting that the piece will air tonight, added that "as of now, not a single word in the report itself has been changed from original, per sources familiar, but final edits are still ongoing." Byers notes that administration officials declined to be interviewed for the piece. As Mediaite points out, the "60 Minutes" broadcast is likely to be significantly overshadowed in ratings by what it's airing against: an NFL divisional round playoff game between the Chicago Bears and the Los Angeles Rams.CBS News' new editor-in-chief Bari Weiss infamously prevented the segment from airing back in December, claiming that the piece wasn't "ready." A CBS News spokesperson told HuffPost after last month's postponement that "it needed additional reporting." Weiss' decision was blasted as "political" in an internal email sent by "60 Minutes" correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi.Despite the network punting the piece, the unaired segment ended up leaking online.CBS News is facing increased scrutiny following Weiss' ascension. In addition to the "60 Minutes" debacle, the newly rebooted CBS Evening News with Tony Dokoupil has churned out some awkward moments and less than stellar ratings.Read more about the "60 Minutes" news at CNN.
