Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Immigration and Customs Enforcement Deputy Director Madison Sheahan resigned Thursday to vie for the Republican Party's nomination to run for a U.S. House seat representing Ohio.

Sheahan launched her campaign in a field that has many seeking the GOP nomination for Ohio's 9th Congressional District.

"I'm a Trump conservative running for Congress to protect American jobs, American paychecks and American values," she said in a post on X.

"No excuses. Let's get this done," Sheahan added.

She posted a 2-minute video detailing how she was raised on her family's farm in Curtice, Ohio, which she said taught her to "be tough, get the job done and make no excuses."
