Newly minted "CBS Evening News" host Tony Dokoupil is set to interview President Donald Trump on Jan. 13.

The Tuesday interview comes as Dokoupil faced a bumpy first week on the job amid technical difficulties and other criticisms. Trump rarely participates in interviews with the three major networks: NBC, ABC and CBS.

"I just met President Donald J. Trump at a Ford factory in Dearborn, MI to talk about Iran, the economy and Fed Chair Jerome Powell," Dokoupil shared on social media.

The Trump interview also comes during a turbulent time in America, divided over the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good by U.S. Immigration and Customs enforcement agent Jonathan Ross in Minneapolis.
