It was the second fatal workplace accident in Italy in two days after a worker fell to his death at the former ILVA steelworks in Taranto in Puglia Monday.

They are the latest in a long spate of accidental workplace deaths in Italy.

On November 4 a 66-year-old worker died after being trapped for 11 hours under the rubble after after a section of Rome's medieval Torre dei Conti collapsed.
