Italian comedian, actor and screenwriter Checco Zalone's new film, Buen Camino, has set a new record to become the most successful Italian movie at the box office ever.
The picture grossed 65,689,125 euros after being seen by 8,157,202 cinema-goers in three weeks after its release on Christmas Day, breaking the record of 65,365,736 euros set by Zalone's 2016 movie 'Quo Vado?'.
The film, which, like 'Quo Vado?', was directed by Gennaro Nunziante, bagged 5,671,922 euros on its first day alone, the best result ever in Italy for a film on Christmas Day.
It is the story of a vain, superficial millionaire played by Zalone who learns how to become a good father by doing the Camino de Santiago with his teenage daughter.
