Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Saturday's Grade II San Vicente Stakes at Santa Anita wasn't an official Kentucky Derby prep, but the race does have some history of turning out good 3-year-olds, and the connections of So Happy couldn't have been more pleased with the way he won the race.

The San Vicente was a highlight of a moderately active weekend of racing that gave fans some respite from a steady diet of pro football playoffs.

And as the world turned, the Breeders' Cup turned far afield this week to celebrate "Win and You're In" events in South America and South Africa.
