Congress parliamentary party chairperson Sonia Gandhi was discharged from hospital on Sunday (January 11, 2026) at 5 p.m., with advice to continue further treatment at her residence.

The senior party leader was admitted to Sir Gangaram Hospital on the evening of January 5 under Arup Basu, senior consultant, chest medicine, with exacerbation of bronchial asthma due to chest infection.
She has responded well to treatment with a good recovery, according to Ajay Swaroop, chairman, Board of Management, Sir Gangaram Hospital.
