WASHINGTON, Jan 10 (Reuters) - The U.S. military said on Saturday, Jan. 10, it carried out multiple strikes in Syria targeting the Islamic State militant group.
"The strikes today targeted ISIS throughout Syria," U.S. Central Command said in a statement, adding the strikes were carried out early afternoon U.S. Eastern Time.
The statement did not note whether anyone was killed in the strikes.

According to an X post by U.S. Central Command, the strikes were part of Operation Hawkeye Strike, which was launched in December in response to a deadly ISIS attack on U.S. and Syrian forces in Palmyra on Dec. 13, 2025.
