Only a week into the new year and awards season is already looking pretty golden.

The Critics Choice Awards handed out the first major round of trophies to potential Oscar contenders just days ago, and the next happens at the 83rd Golden Globes on Jan. 11 (live on CBS and Paramount+, 8 ET/5 PT). Again hosted by Nikki Glaser, the Globes will offer a different perspective on the awards landscape: The Critics Choice Association is mostly American, while Globes voters are a more worldly bunch. And we'll begin to see if "One Battle After Another" (which leads the field with nine nominations) or "Sinners" (seven) has the winning mojo to be an Oscar front-runner.
