MIAMI, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- The Miami Dolphins will hire Green Bay Packers vice president of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan as their new general manager.

Sources told NFL Network, The Athletic and ESPN about the hiring Friday. Sullivan will replace Chris Grier, who parted ways with the Dolphins in October. Grier held the role for 10 years.

Sullivan will now be part of a brain trust tasked with hiring the Dolphins' next coach to replace Mike McDaniel, who was fired Thursday.

Sullivan, 48, joined the Packers in 2003 as an intern. He worked his way up as a scout and within the Packers' player personnel department before being promoted to vice president of player personnel in 2022.
