The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) has decided to shift its campus to Bengaluru South District by March 2026 in a phased manner.
“Construction of the new campus is in full swing. We are planning to start shifting the campus by March this year. In the first phase, we will shift the administrative block. The examination section will function from the Bengaluru office for some time in the interest of students,” said Bhagavan B.C., Vice-Chancellor of the university.
Speaking at a press conference here on Friday, Dr. Bhagavan said, “We are waiting for the completion of the construction of staff accommodation . The State government had asked for ₹600 crore for the new campus, and ₹300 crore has already been transferred.” .
When asked about the financial burden on the university, Arjun Odeyar, Registrar (Administration), said, “We are releasing the funds in a phased manner . For salaries and other retirement benefits of the staff, we have kept ₹300 crore corpus fund, and we have brought it to the notice of the government that university cannot disturb that amount.”
