Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has recommended Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the Ankita Bhandari murder case on Friday (January 9, 2026).

The announcement came after a fortnight long statewide protests.
The government’s objective has been and will continue to be to ensure justice in a fair, transparent, and sensitive manner, CM Dhami said.
He said that the government’s intention is completely clear, and no fact or evidence will be overlooked.
