President Donald Trump, the only U.S. president to be impeached twice, thinks he could be again if Republicans lose control of the House in the midterms.
“You’ve got to win the midterms,” Trump told House Republicans on Jan. 6 at the newly named "Trump-Kennedy Center." “If we don’t win the midterms, it’s just going to be – they’ll find a reason to impeach me.”
Trump's whirlwind of his first year back in office has been met with many legal challenges, and some Democrats have moved to impeach him. But without control of either chamber of Congress, those resolutions were always a long shot and did not gain momentum.
