Jan. 8 (UPI) -- The Kansas City Chiefs are aware of domestic violence allegations linked to Rashee Rice and are talking with the NFL about them, the team said.
"The club is aware of the allegations on social media and is in communication with the National Football League," the Chiefs said in a statement. "We have no further comment at this time."
Rice's ex-girlfriend, Dacoda Nichole Jones, posted photos Wednesday afternoon on Instagram, showing bruises and wounds on her body and claiming that her abuser was the father of her children. She did not specifically name Rice, but he fathered two of her children.
Rice, who was suspended for six games this season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years of probation in July for his role in a 2024 multi-car crash in Dallas. He pleaded guilty to collision involving serious bodily injury and racing on a highway causing bodily injury, which are both felony charges.
