Ruckus ensued in the Delhi Assembly on Thursday (January 8, 2025) with both the BJP and the AAP accusing each other of insulting Guru Tegh Bahadur.
After several adjournments, Speaker Vijender Gupta referred the issue of the alleged comment made by AAP’s Atishi against Guru Tegh Bahadur to the Committee of Privileges of the Assembly.
The BJP had on Wednesday sought to cancel Atishi’s membership over alleged comments made by senior AAP leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Atishi against Guru Tegh Bahadur in the House on Tuesday (January 6).
On Thursday, the AAP alleged that BJP leader and Law Minister Kapil Mishra has posted an “edited fake” video of Atishi’s alleged comments on social media and it’s an “insult” of the Guru.
AAP members then demanded the suspension of Mr. Mishra and all MLAs who reposted the video.
