Gwyneth Paltrow says the commotion around her “conscious uncoupling” with Coldplay singer and ex-husband Chris Martin led to an unexpected snag in her acting career.
Talking about the situation on the latest episode of Amy Poehler’s Golden Globe-nominated “Good Hang” podcast, the Oscar-winner revealed, “I was supposed to do a movie at one point, and it was like right after the conscious uncoupling thing with Chris, and there was a lot of harsh stuff in the press.”
“I think the distributor was like, ‘This might be too hot to touch.’”
Paltrow went on, saying, “So that was great because I was getting a divorce and then I got fired off — so it was so awesome.”
The Goop mogul was widely mocked for a 2014 blog post about her split with Martin, with many finding her euphemism for the break-up painfully precious or just downright pretentious.
