Ashely Tisdale set the parenting world ablaze earlier this week when the former “High School Musical” star wrote about the drama of her “toxic mom group.” “I remember being left out of a couple of group hangs, and I knew about them because Instagram made sure it fed me every single photo and Instagram Story,” she wrote in her essay.“Another time, at one of the mom’s dinner parties, I realized where I sat with her — which was at the end of the table, far from the rest of the women. I was starting to feel frozen out of the group, noticing every way that they seemed to exclude me.” Tisdale wrote that she eventually exited the group via group text, and wrote, “This is too high school for me and I don’t want to take part in it anymore” to her fellow moms. One sent flowers, then ignored me when I thanked her for them. Another tried to convince me that everyone assumed I’d been invited to gatherings and just hadn’t shown up.” But Tisdale insisted that she “never considered the moms to be bad people” save for “maybe one” of them. “But I do think our group dynamic stopped being healthy and positive — for me, anyway,” she shared. Nearly as soon as Tisdale’s essay was published, internet sleuths began speculating that the actor’s mom group she was referring to included fellow celebrities, based on certain photos other moms have shared over the years. One photo in particular showed Tisdale posing in matching “Mother” sweats with other celebrities, including Meghan Trainor, Mandy Moore and Hilary Duff.A rep for Tisdale told TMZ the actor was not referring to Trainor, Moore or Duff in her piece.Representatives for Tisdale, Trainor, Moore and Duff did not immediately respond to HuffPost requests for further comment. The Tisdale rep also told TMZ that rumors the actor was pushed out of her mom group because of her politics ― some speculated the actor was a MAGA loyalist ― were also false, as she is a registered Democrat. Tisdale herself has not commented further since her essay was published. Close
