Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Michael Reagan died on Sunday at age 80 while surrounded by his family at his Los Angeles home, his family announced on Tuesday.
Reagan died after battling cancer and was the oldest son of former President Ronald Reagan and actress Jane Wyman, ABC News reported.
"Michael Reagan lived a life shaped by conviction, purpose and an abiding devotion to President Reagan's ideals," said Fred Ryan, chairman of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, in a statement.
"A successful author, nationally syndicated radio talk show host and sought-after public speaker, Michael used his voice to champion freedom, personal responsibility and the principles that defined his father's presidency," Ryan added.
