Kathy Griffin, 65, ‘fell in love’ with a 23-year-old. We need to talk about age gaps.

Kathy Griffin closed out 2025 with a dating revelation: Shortly after her split from ex-husband Randy Bick, she fell for a 23-year-old.

"I accidentally fell in love with a 23-year-old," the 65-year-old comedian wrote in a piece for The Cut, published Dec. 31. "Because of his age, he didn’t have the usual sexism, misogyny, and biases that guys my age tend to have. He seemed to see me. I know that sounds really corny. Oh God, it sounds so lame! But I felt really comfortable with him, and I felt very content just hanging out."

The relationship was short-lived, Griffin wrote, but she says the two enjoyed each other's company and she doesn't regret it.

"I knew he was too young when he told me he never wanted to have kids and that he could be with me forever. And I was like, 'You don’t know that. You’re 23. You have no idea,' " she wrote. "So I had to set that dove free."

Griffin is far from the only celebrity to pursue romance with someone with significantly younger than her. After all, Bill Belichick and his girlfriend Jordon Hudson − who have a 48-year age gap − made their romance red carpet official in late 2024. And Katherine McPhee and David Foster, who have a 35-year age gap, have been married since 2019.
