The Mangaluru division of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has slashed fares on its premium services between the coast and Bengaluru, with effect from Monday.
The slashing and rolling back, in some cases, of fares are aimed at attracting passengers during the travel off-season between January and March. The corporation increases premium services fares by 10-15% during travel peak season of April-June and October-December while it offers regular fares during the off-season. Fares during weekends too would witness partial increase.
The fares on the top premium service, Ambari Utsav - multi-axle air-conditioned sleeper coach are brought down to ₹1,510 on the Kundapur-Bengaluru-Kundapur route, ₹1,460 on the Udupi-Bengaluru-Udupi route, and ₹1,350 on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru-Mangaluru route. Fares on Ambari Dream Class, another multi-axle air-conditioned sleeper coach category, are reduced to ₹1,350, ₹1,300, and ₹1,200 respectively between these destinations.
Fares on multi-axle 2 air-conditioned sitting coaches are reduced to ₹1,310 on the Kundapur-Bengaluru-Kundapur route, ₹1,250 on the Udupi-Bengaluru-Udupi route, and ₹1,150 on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru-Mangaluru route. Fares on the old multi-axle sitting coaches are reduced to ₹1,110, ₹1,060, and ₹1,000 respectively on these routes.
