A 50-year-old man died after jumping from the 12th floor of a hotel in Connaught Place on Sunday, police said.
The deceased, identified as Parvinder Singh Juneja, was a resident of Lajpat Nagar. According to the police, he arrived at the hotel as a guest, took a lift to the 12th floor, which houses a restaurant, before jumping from the building, prompting the hotel staff to alert the police.
Police said Juneja had earlier checked into the same hotel during Christmas and had checked out subsequently. Hotel staff confirmed that he was not staying at the hotel at the time of the incident and had visited as a guest.
The hotel management declined to issue an official statement on the incident.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and the police said they are investigating the circumstances that led to the death.
