Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday unveiled portraits of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Madan Mohan Malaviya, an educationist and one of the founders of the Hindu Mahasabha, in the Delhi Assembly.

“Politics is not meant for the pursuit of power. It is a sacred trust of public service, and democracy endures only when guided by integrity and character,” Mr. Singh said, as per an official statement by the Delhi Assembly secretariat.

The Defence Minister added that the two leaders exemplified the highest standards of moral integrity and that their public conduct continues to offer guidance on ethical politics and long-term national interest over transient political gains.
