South Carolina health officials announced Friday that the state's measles outbreak, centered around Spartanburg County, has jumped by nine since Tuesday and now sits at 185 infections.

"Four of the new cases were known household exposures, one resulted from a previously reported school exposure, the source of three cases is unknown, and one is still being investigated," officials said in their announcement.

Among the 185 infected, 172 were unvaccinated, four were partially vaccinated, four are unknown and four are still being investigated. There is one known infection in a fully vaccinated individual. The vast majority of cases are in people age 17 and under.
