Legislative Council member and Telangana Jagruthi president, K. Kavitha, said that Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief and , K Chandrashekar Rao, must come to the Assembly to dispel the propaganda against him on the water projects, as the two people chosen to speak on BRS's behalf in the Assembly were not competent to counter the allegations.
She said it would be appropriate for KCR himself to come to the Assembly and explain why the Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme’s (PRLIS) source point was changed. Speaking to reporters at the Legislative Council on Friday (January 2, 2026), she targeted BRS MLA T. Harish Rao, questioning the decision to make him the party’s Deputy Floor Leader and said the future of the party was at stake and it would not have any future if such a situation continues.
Referring to Mr. Harish Rao, she alleged that his role in the Palamuru project would make any debate in the House appear “pre-arranged” and recalled his past friendly interactions with the Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, in the Assembly chambers. Allowing him to speak on water issues, she said, would be detrimental to the BRS.
Criticising the Chief Minister, she said his remarks against KCR were unacceptable and amounted to insulting a leader who led the Telangana movement, and as a daughter, her blood boiled when such language was used against her father. She accused the Chief Minister of committing a grave injustice to the Palamuru region and of speaking disrespectfully about the leaders of the Telangana movement.
