Amid the buzz of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) reuniting for the upcoming Municipal Corporation elections, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Sunday (December 28, 2025) announced an alliance between his NCP and the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar), saying the “parivar” (family) is coming together.

“The clock [symbol of NCP] and the ‘tutari’ [NCP-SP] have united for the Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal corporation (PCMC) polls. The parivar has once again come together. For the sake of the State’s development, some things need to be done. Please have patience for two days, the picture will be clearer.” said Mr. Ajit, while speaking to the public in Pimpri Chinchwad on Sunday (December 28).

Highlighting the development work in PCMC, he said, “We brought development that people are happy to live in PCMC. We developed an IT hub in Hinjewadi, which is counted as the top IT park in the country.”

Since the NCP split in 2023, the Ajit Pawar-led NCP has been in the Mahayuti alliance with the BJP and the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena at the State level. However, for the Municipal Corporation, NCP has been exploring its options, whether to go solo or reunite with the other NCP faction of Sharad Pawar. Finally, the suspense has ended with Ajit Pawar saying the family has reunited.
