As uncertainties over a possible change of Chief Minister in Karnataka continued to dominate political discourse, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reached New Delhi to participate in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on December 27.
“Yes, I am going to the CWC meeting,” the Chief Minister said in reply to a question by mediapersons in Davanagere on Friday.
Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC chief D K Shivakumar has not been invited to the CWC meeting. However, Mr. Shivakumar met AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge at the latter’s residence in Bengaluru on Thursday and reportedly discussed the political issues.
Sources in the Congress said that the CWC meeting is unlikely to take up the leadership change issue. However, the issue could be discussed with central leaders of the party either before or after the CWC meeting.
As speculation over power-sharing for the Chief Minister’s post continued, sources maintained that the two leaders were engaged in “mind games” and seeking publicity.
