Govind Balasubramanian, who appeared for the Common Admission Test (CAT), the all-India entrance exam for admission into the Indian Institute of Managements (IIMs) and other top B-schools, three times in a row to secure a seat in the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), has also become the Karnataka topper by scoring 100 percentile marks in CAT-2025.

Originally from Kerala and working as a data scientist at a private firm in Bengaluru, Mr. Balasubramanian had written CAT-2025 at the Bengaluru centre this time.

“My dream is to do Master of Business Administration (MBA) in IIMB. I had scored 100 percentile in the CAT-2022 earlier. But I did not get a seat in IIMB in the viva. So, last year I attempted the CAT-2024 and scored 99.97 percentile of marks. But last time also, I did not get a seat in IIMB either. So again, this year I have written the exam and scored 100 percentile, and I am looking forward to the viva. This time I will get admission even if I get a seat in IIMB or IIM Ahmedabad,” he said.

“I studied Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from BITS Pilani K.K. Birla Goa campus and graduated in 2023. Since childhood I have an interest in Maths and Logical questions. These sections in the CAT question paper helped me score 100 percentile,” he said.
