Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan continue to reel under an intense cold wave, with Fatehpur in Rajasthan’s Sikar district being the coldest place in the state on Wednesday night (December 24, 2025) at 1.6 degrees Celsius. This was followed by by Nagaur at 1.9 degree Celsius and Lunkaransar in Bikaner at 3.5 degrees Celsius.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Amritsar recorded a lowest of 5.7 degrees Celsius. Major cities in Punjab, including Ludhiana and Patiala, recorded the identical lows of 6.4 degrees Celsius, while Pathankot logged a minimum of 6.7 degrees Celsius. Bathinda also saw a dip in temperature at 5.6 degrees Celsius and Gurdaspur at 5.5 degrees Celsius. Chandigarh, capital of the two states, recorded a minimum of 6.9 degrees Celsius.

In neighbouring Haryana, Ambala recorded a minimum temperature at 7.9 degrees Celsius, while Hisar logged 5.6 degrees Celsius. Likewise, Karnal registered 6.8 degrees Celsius, Narnaul 5 degrees Celsius, while Rohtak, Bhiwani and Sirsa registered minimum temperatures of 6.8, 6 and 6.2 degrees Celsius, respectively. Ludhiana and Patiala also did not see any respite from the cold wave, recording identical lows of 6.4 degrees Celsius, while Pathankot logged a minimum of 6.7 degrees Celsius. Bathinda experienced cold weather with 5.6 degrees Celsius and Gurdaspur recorded a low of 5.5 degrees Celsius.
