Two candidates were arrested for allegedly indulging in malpractice during a non-teaching recruitment examination conducted at the University of Hyderabad on December 21, 2025. The accused were identified as Anil Kumar and Satish, both natives of Haryana.
The action followed a complaint by Devesh Nigam, Registrar of the University of Hyderabad, Gachibowli, stating that the candidates were caught using unfair means during the recruitment examination for the post of Junior Office Assistant.
During the examination, the candidates were found in possession of prohibited electronic devices, including mobile phones, microphones and bluetooth earphones, which were used while writing the test.
The police arrested the accused and produced them before a court, which remanded them to judicial custody. The electronic items were seized and further investigation into the case is underway.
