Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Florida State quarterback Thomas Castellanos dropped his appeal for a fifth year of eligibility and declared for the 2026 NFL Draft, he announced on social media.

"Being a Seminole has been an absolute dream come true," Castellanos wrote on Instagram and X. "From the relationships built to the moments that will stay with me forever, I'm proud to graduate from this incredible university and I will carry the garnet and gold with me wherever I go."

Castellanos previously appealed to the NCAA for another year of eligibility because he appeared in just five games in 2022 as a freshman at Central Florida. He then played at Boston College before transferring to Florida State last year.

The NCAA initially denied his waiver request for another season of eligibility.

Castellanos completed 58.3% of his throws for 2,760 yards, 15 scores and nine interceptions over 12 appearances this season for the Seminoles.
