Dec. 24 (UPI) -- A bomb exploded in a Moscow suburb Wednesday, just two days after a car bomb exploded about 1,000 feet away.

Russian police said that two police officers noticed a suspicious man near a police car. When they approached, a blast detonated, killing the man and the two officers.

"Investigators and forensic experts from the Moscow Investigative Committee are continuing to examine the scene of the incident," Svetlana Petrenko, a representative for the investigative committee, said in a statement.

Police are also studying surveillance video and interviewing witnesses to uncover the perpetrator, the statement added.

Moscow traffic police said Ilya Klimanov, 24, and Maksim Gorbunov, 25, were killed in the blast.
