A popular grocery store in Texas delighted customers with free items after its system experienced a glitch.

Dozens of shoppers at the H-E-B in Burleson, about 45 miles southwest of Dallas, received free groceries as they waited in line for checkout during a system outage on Monday, Dec. 22.

Video footage from the incident shows a store employee with the name badge "Destanie" delivering the good news to waiting shoppers, which was met with applause, cheers and joy.

"Today, everything that you have, we are going to bag you up and hope that you have a very merry Christmas, and continue to shop with us," Destanie says in the video.

H-E-B, in a statement to USA TODAY, said it is "committed to serving our customers year-round and especially during the holidays."
