The Centre’s panel on Delhi-NCR’s air quality on Wednesday (December 24, 2025) revoked curbs under stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) as the overall air quality index (AQI) in the national capital improved to the 'poor' category, according to an official order.

“The Sub-Committee, accordingly, decides to revoke with immediate effect its orders dated 13.12.2025, for invoking actions under Stage-IV (’Severe+’ Air Quality >450) of modified schedule of GRAP,” the order by the Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) read.

Actions under Stage-I, II & III of the extant GRAP shall, however, remain invoked and be implemented, it added.

Delhi’s air quality saw some improvement on Wednesday (December 24) morning, with the AQI moving to ‘very poor’ from ‘severe’ the day before, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The AQI stood at 336 in the morning, as against 415 on Tuesday (December 23)
