Carabinieri police said Tuesday that they have identified the motorist suspected of firing at a group of cyclists from the S.C.
Padovani elite amateur team while they were training on a road near Peri, in the province of Verona, on Sunday.
They said the suspect was a 25-year-old local man.
He is accused of pulling out a gun and firing two shots at the team as he overtook them on the SS12 highway in an act of road rage after a row.
They managed to identify the car via video-surveillance cameras and track down the owner, who has been charged with several felonies.
