It'll be the Philip Rivers show once again on "Monday Night Football" when the San Francisco 49ers head to Lucas Oil Stadium to take on the Indianapolis Colts.
Indianapolis surprised the NFL world when they turned to Philip Rivers to hold down the fort in Week 15 in the wake of injuries to Daniel Jones and Riley Leonard. To his credit, Rivers held up his end of the bargain, keeping the Colts in the game late vs. the Seahawks before losing on a late field goal (and a Rivers INT).
Rivers played relatively well in his first game action since 2020, completing 18 passes for 120 yards, a touchdown and the interception that sealed the result. He'll have an equally tough opponent in Week 16 in San Francisco.
The 49ers were given an early Christmas present from the Seattle Seahawks on "Thursday Night Football," when Seattle upended the Los Angeles Rams in overtime, pushing them to the top of the NFC West.
While the Seahawks control their destiny entering the final weeks of the season, thanks to that win, the 49ers still have a path to the division and the No. 1 seed in the playoffs.
