Vice President JD Vance on Sunday defended the Trump administration's elimination of diversity programs with racially charged remarks at Turning Point USA’s annual conference, The New York Times reported.
“We don’t treat anybody different because of their race or their sex, so we have relegated DEI to the dustbin of history, which is exactly where it had belonged,” Vance said. “In the United States of America, you don’t have to apologize for being white anymore.”
The vice president also diplomatically tiptoed around arguments made at the gathering for expelling extremists such as Nick Fuentes and Candace Owens from the conservative movement, the Times wrote.
