The authorities at the University of Calicut have denied reports about technical glitches in the K-REAP software for exam registration.

A section of first-semester postgraduate students attached to various departments on the university campus at Tenhipalam in Malappuram had earlier claimed that they were facing issues while uploading details on to the software. The Kerala Resources for Education Administration and Planning software (K-REAP) was launched by the Kerala State Higher Education Council recently to streamline the academic and administrative functions in State universities.

Some students, however, pointed out that they had earlier faced technical issues while entering registration details. Later, problems reportedly cropped up while remitting fees. At present, a section of teachers were reportedly finding it difficult to upload the students’ internal marks.

According to sources, the internal marks were supposed to be uploaded between December 10 and December 18. When the problems were highlighted, the date was reportedly extended up to December 23.

However, the university authorities refuted the allegations saying none of them are true. The software might go slow if a large number of people use it at the same time, they added. Meanwhile, academics attached to the United Democratic Front have reiterated their claim that K-REAP was launched without adhering to norms.
